How can an insurance company exclude one of the two lab testing companies from their network? No one ever told me that LabCorp wasn't in network for Florida Blue so I went there because I've always gone there. And then I get hit with a bill for $500. Needless to say I'm no longer with Florida Blue and neither should you be.

Incompetent and Insulting

This insurance provider continues to flag our account unjustly. It started last month when our Better You Rewards were applied to our May bill which reduced it. My FL Blue grants its members a 90-day grace period to pay their monthly premiums. If they do not pay their outstanding bill within 30 days, their system flags the account which restricts their benefits. The problem is My FL Blue is not waiting 30 days. They are restricting our account 5-7 days after the due date. I have reported them to CMS and FL Department of Financial Services. Their customer service team is horrible and incompetent. Most issues have to be escalated just to be resolved.

Horrible Customer Service

Horrible Customer Service - Overseas agents are ruining Fl Blue! They make you repeat the same thing over & over because they aren't fluent with English. That's no fair!! I let everyone I know to stay away because of their hired agents.

This is a scam

This is a scam. Ive been paying $500 a month for 2 years and now that i need help they refuse to cover anything. The 1 doctor they will let me get a referral from will not see me for months. I have 2 referrals already, 1 from walk in, another from emergency room but this insurance still wont cover a god damn eye doctor. My eye has swelled shut while ive been stuck on hold on 1000 phone calls and there is nothing this company will do to help me.

Absolutely horrific customer service

Absolutely horrific customer service. While routine claims are handles fairly well, get on your knees and pray that you never have to contact them for anything. I personally submitted a claim 4 times and they acknowledged it at the time, and later could not find anything. They bounce claims between different divisions within the organization because apparently no one has a clue. If I could change before open enrollment I would.

It's exhausting to get anything done

It's exhausting to get anything done. The system is intentionally set up to trickle access to health care. It doesn't use technology efficiently. Mistakes, misinformation and confusion are rampant. It's too easy for a customer to get stuck with a bill.

Horrible Customer Service Experience

I have been currently trying to get reimbursed for a claim from 2023. My wife and I have called in over a dozen times. Each time, we're promised a call back, weeks go by and nobody ever calls back. I got a manager on the line, Phillip who I trused would give me better service. It's been 2weeks now and I have yet to receive one call. This has been the worst customer service experience that I have ever dealt with. If I was not handcuffed to them as my employers health insurance I would have cancelled a long time ago. If you're an employee, do not ever use them for health insurance and make your employees go through this.

Florida Blue is the worst turning down…

Florida Blue is the worst turning down delaying health procedures for people.. Some paper pusher outsourced and paid and bonused for saving Florida Blue money. My doctor doesn't seem to have any say in my health care because the Gods at Flrioda Blue will decide weather my healthcare will move forward or if its not my lucky day and I will be punished. Florida Blue is concerned only with profits and are is something the will be determined by the outsourced Gods Florida Blue has hired to protect their profits

Florida Blue Select is Not Good

From what I understand regular Florida Blue is OK. But I got the "Select" plan which you get at the insurance "marketplace", the government website where you are supposed to be able to get more affordable insurance. Well let me tell you what happens: They bill the government full insurance prices but charge you a smaller fee. And the "select" term basically means "ghetto" because Doctors don't want to accept it. How do I know? My gf works at an office with many different types of practitioners and they make wise cracks about "another person called with Select, told them it would be better to self-pay". Its a joke and scam on the American people.

FLORIDA BCBS IS GETTING WORSE

After FIVE years Florida Blue decided to automatically CHANGE MY PRIMARY DOCTOR and PHARMACY with 2024 insurance. I'm informed right in the middle of taking care of tests, referrals for a surgery and a doctor's appt. the next morning, I had to then change the primary back to my original. Then, after a doctor's office sending in prescriptions I find out my PHARMACY has also been changed after five years. They're saying it's mandatory I move to Walgreens. I was told there's no appealing it and it couldn't be changed. My current pharmacy is across the street. The new one is way down the highway through a nightmare of construction. I cannot fathom why they did this or wouldn't care about the situations of their customers.
Florida Blue continues to get worse and worse.

After several years at my Chiropractor, he had to stop taking my policy in 2023 because a third party (I was told) who handles payment decisions didn't want to pay as much so he had been losing money for a couple years.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. I pay $1300 per month for individual private insurance (just me) and they have denied two medications I need and meet criteria for. They also denied an MRI of my brain that a neurologist said I needed! In addition I am starting physical therapy and they have only 2 physical therapists in-network close to me - neither is good. None of the good ones are in their network. Their customer service reps know nothing, so don’t count on them when you need help. One even lied and pretended they don’t have reference numbers for calls. Their find-a-doctor site is disorganized and not up to date. I’m so unhappy with them and will be making a change to another plan as soon as possible. Should have done do sooner. They seem to get worse every year.

Avoid if at all possible

Not enough room on this website to describe every awful experience I've had with FL Blue, and sadly they're the highest rated ins co in the state. Just got my annual letter about renewing plan and I need time to calculate whether to keep my current plan or choose a different one. I called the number on the letter and was told by a pleasant-sounding agent that she doesn't know. I said "You don't know?" She said, "well, I DO know, but I'm not allowed to tell you so I have to transfer you to someone who's allowed to say." What. Last fun experience before that: they kept denying prior authorization requests for a med that my epileptic son needs. 6 times over a period of 4-5 months. Even though doc included explanation why this particular med is needed. Took hours on the phone with various departments to find out there's a special "secret" form the doc needs to submit and fax to them. Why should a thing like this be so hard to find out? Why all the secrets.

Florida blue is one of the worst…

Florida blue is one of the worst Insurance I have ever had. I have had Florida Blue health insurance for several years, and I have been very disappointed with the service. My premiums are high, and my coverage is limited. I have had to pay out-of-pocket for many medical services that should have been covered by my insurance. When I have filed claims, they have often been denied, even for medically necessary services. Customer service is slow and unresponsive. In addition, they are charging over even though Market place has set up my fixed premium. I will file a complain to Florida Insurance Regulation Board shortly. I would not recommend Florida Blue health insurance to anyone.

Florida Blue is only interested in about money , not about people. Sad

Florida Blue is only interested in money and not interested in the health of people. The company trained the employees to say " I am sorry, we are helping you. But is not true, just want to take your payment and good luck. In this country, we need serious people's help to serious people.

Worst Health Provider

Called a rep in early November to setup a health plan. we spent an hour setting everything up and she said she'd call me back to finalize everything. She never called me back, even after I called her several times. So in early December I call again and went through the same process with another rep for at least an hour. She said I would be receiving an email in a day or two to setup my account and make payment - that email never came. Third time I called, get transferred to 6 different departments and no one can find information on me, even after giving them my SSN.

A 10-year old can setup better customer service than this. I will be looking into Cigna or other health options because Florida Blue is obviously run by clowns. Can't imagine being a current Florida Blue customer and having an emergency and getting the run around from customer support. Guess it's a blessing in disguise I didn't sign up with them.

Better Than Expected

I enrolled in a Florida Blue plan this year, Bronze myblue and it was better than I had expected. The coverage is not stellar but the customer service and support make up for it. I would encourage anyone looking for a myfloridablue plan to check out the Bronze plan.

My dermatologist found a cancer on my…

My dermatologist found a cancer on my back and referred me to a specialist after reading the pathology report. I made a appointment for the specialist and was scheduled to have surgery on May 30, 2024. Two days before my surgery, I received 2 separate letters from Florida Blue. The first letter I opened was stating that my surgery was approved but when I opened the second letter, I was shocked to see that Florida Blue was denying the surgery! I contacted the surgeons office and informed them that I had been denied coverage and I was told not to worry and they would take care of it. When the surgeons office called me back with the update, I was told that the person at Florida Blue who made the decision to deny surgery mistakenly thought that the tiny piece of cancerous tissue that was taken from the large cancer was the size of the actual cancer. That same day, my surgeon sent Fl Blue the info stating the actual size of the cancer was much larger than the sample taken. The surgeons office stated they sent the info including the actual size of the cancer to FL Blue and I was again approved and was rescheduled for surgery next week after my first appointment was canceled due to the denial. Today, 5/31, I received a call from Florida Blue stating my surgery was denied again! I am at a loss! The stress this has caused me is beyond belief as the biopsy indicated the cancer may be metastatic, meaning it’s possible the cancer has spread!
The only thing I can say to anyone who considers Florida Blue is DON’T! I have yet to have any medical professional I’ve visited say anything nice about Florida Blue health insurance! If you value your health, please don’t use Florida Blue!
